Your Free Pass to Discover Ibiza

Great news for all holders of an NIE number you can tour the entire island of Ibiza completely free of charge courtesy of the concessionary bus pass “Eivissa En Bus.”

The little red card is simple to apply for and does not cost a thing. A refreshing change on an island that is rapidly gaining a reputation as one of the most exclusive and therefore expensive destinations in Europe. As any regular visitor to Ibiza will know it hosts many places of interest on a relatively small mass of land and all can be reached via a comprehensive, island-wide bus service.

The aesthetic qualities of its many celebrated beaches such as, Cala Bassa, Cala Conta and Cala Tarida on the west coast, the eastern region of Santa Eulalia with its stunning coves and traditional hippy markets, the scenic northern coastline incorporating Portinatx and San Miguel, and the southern beaches of Playa D’en Bossa, Figueretas and Talamanca can all be admired.

Cultural sites like D’Alt Vila and the rest of Ibiza town can be explored in comfort without having to worry about parking. Countryside pursuits and activities can be enjoyed thanks to rural routes that circumvent the island and provide the most practical and economical solution for residents to get around.

Ibiza

The capital of the island from which you can access all areas. Its ancient city, D’Alt Vila was awarded UNESCO heritage status in 1999 with a towering fortress and historic walls encapsulating traditional shops, market stalls and gourmet restaurants. The vibrant town centre hosts designer shops and pavement cafes winding down to the illustrious yachting marina and gateway to neighbouring Formentera.

Santa Eulalia

The second largest region on the island with a delightful major resort of the same name boasting an exclusive harbour and an impressive promenade stretching to the sleepy resort of Siesta.
Easily reached by bus from almost every part of Ibiza, this area is famous for its Hippy Markets of Punta Arabi in Es Cana, established in 1973, and Las Dalias in San Carlos, dating back to 1954 when artists and bohemians populated the north-eastern part of Ibiza. These seasonal markets with their lively musical accompaniments have expanded into thriving weekly events.

San Miguel and Portinatx

The scenic north of the island plays host to the original fishing port of San Miguel, the fine sandy, pine clad bay of Portinatx and the popular caves of: “Cueva De Can Marca.” Just over an hour by bus from the capital these major attractions display an alternative Ibiza to its usual partygoing image.

San Jose

Overlooked by the island’s highest mountain, Sa Talaia, with a summit of 475m the traditional village of San Jose is the namesake for the largest municipality in Ibiza, well-known for its dramatic and colourful sunsets as well as some of Ibiza’s most picturesque beaches. Stretching from the bay of San Antonio to the southern resort of Playa D’en Bossa and the nature reserve of Ses Salinas with its exotic, indigenous flamingos this privileged western region is served by an efficient network of island-wide and local buses.

Disco Bus

The Disco bus is a seasonal service that runs through the night and links every part of the island to the Superclubs, whilst the airport route provides a way of reaching major summer destinations on landing in Ibiza.
